I feel so guilty for not updating my blog for months even though some photograghs were posted from time to time.
Last week, two of the byelections result has rung pounding sound to the UMNO led BN government and Najib new premiership that the PEOPLE is fed-up with the corrupted, racial political plays of the coalation. The BN leadership need to recognise the aspiration of the RAKYAT or else they will be ousted by the people very soon. Probably the next election.
During byelection campaign, I was at Bukit Selambau. It was totally a different political scenario all together compared to my departure from Sungai Petani after helping in the 1999 election campaign. Ten years ago, even though the mood of change was in the air,but generally the people were sceptical and reserved in showing their support. This time, the local folks in Sungai Lalang town and new village greeted us as if we were relatives who had not gone home for decades. On the other hand, the remote Bukit Selambau new villagers welcome our arrival with joy but in quite a subtle manner. After several visits and ceramahs, the residents showed their support openly after listening to convincing ceramahs from Anwar Ibrahim, Tian Chua, Lim Guan Eng and other leaders.
During the 10 days in Bukit Selambau, we were welcome by the locals wherever we went. There were people in the market place and hawker centres who rushed to pay our bills after our breakfast or lunch. The warmth and closeness of the people had drown our tireness(slept at 3.00am,woke up at 7.00am) and boosted our high spirit. This overwhelming support and solidarity proved our victory on the polling day.
As the director of the special task force, I would like to thank all team members and volunteers who came from all over tha nation. Last and not least, my great honour to those who had shown concern and supported us spiritually and materially.
Warmest regards till we meet again.
